A cherished home was ready to grow along with its family. The homeowners envisioned a large, open family space along with some new hangout areas and a multipurpose garage. The existing ranch home had great bones and beautiful existing brick, but it was time to elevate the functionality and aesthetic of this home to match the homeowners needs and wants. At the exterior, the existing brick was complimented with a black stained wood and copper accents to bring a modern look while honoring the existing ranch home. Entering the main community spaces shows the family room, kitchen, and dining room with an open layout and a datum of a revamped fireplace. The kitchen, which was previously a side porch, enhances natural light into the space with large skylights and dark finishes, nodding back to the exterior materials. A new and improved screened porch was added to the back of the family room as a connection space to the existing pool area. An existing garage was converted into a bonus room with an elevated kids loft, mud room, and half bath. A new, detached garage was built into the sloped yard, which created an opportunity to incorporate a storm shelter space with a kids playhouse on top.
