While the interior spaces of this existing ranch home were showing signs of age, its strong structural foundation and ample square footage presented an opportunity for transformation. The primary objective of this project was to infuse a modern aesthetic, establish inviting exterior hangout spaces complementing a new pool, enhance the functionality of interior spaces for a more thoughtful and open layout, and strategically relocate a poorly positioned stair. The dramatic first impression created by the bold black exterior paint sets the tone for a series of updates within. The material palette, featuring blacks, whites, and warm wood tones, imparts a modern and subtle ambiance. This effect is further heightened by strategically placed moments of color, whether through vibrant artwork, carefully selected furniture, or the mesmerizing blue hues of the pool. Concealed beams, strategically anchored to exterior walls above the ceiling, contribute to a sense of openness and connectivity in the main living spaces. The main sitting area, distinguished by a subtly elevated ceiling, offers serene views of the backyard through a shallow screened porch. However, the true showstopper unfolds at the new stair, boasting ample windows that frame captivating views of the pool and trees beyond. Descending to the basement level reveals a well-appointed space featuring a secondary living room, guest and kids bedrooms, wine storage, and an exercise room. This home effortlessly balances its role as the ultimate hangout pad with a generous allocation of space and functionality for the daily lives of the residing family.
